O Restaurante "a Sagres", tal como o nome indica, localiza-se na Vila de Sagres. A decoração é baseada num conceito rústico mas ao mesmo tempo acolhedor. A iluminação, a lareira, a decoração, as velas... tudo se conjuga para criar um ambiente tranquilizante mas ao mesmo tempo discreto e confortável. Situado perto da praia do Tonel. Permite almoçar ou jantar num ambiente aprazível onde reina o bem servir atraves da confecção de comida regional e tradicional. It was an absolute joy having lunch there. Decoration: not pretentious but decorated with taste. Food: We ordered the most transional dishes, a kind of fish casserole that was delicious, not so say that the quantity was generous. Beverages: We drank green wine, typical from the algarve. Wonderful mix. Service: great service, very helpful, nice and charming.
We went here after a recommendation from a taxi driver. It is a lovely, local, family run relaxed place. We had grilled dorado (freshly caught that day) which was just delicious. Came with yummy buttery potatoes and a very tasty mixed salad. Very good value for money as well. The owner and other staff were incredibly friendly. A lovely evening and if we weren't leaving tomorrow we would definitely go back.
It's my favourite restaurant in Sagres. With the best fresh fish from the Southwestern coast of Europe. Its grilled bream, sardines, and other species are top. As welll as its stuffed squid, octopus rice, and others specialities. Salads and fish soup are also excellent. João Pedro is the owner while his wife Paula supervises the kitchen. It's mainly a family business with some experienced staff. He speaks English, French, Italian, Portuguese and Spanish. That's one of his main qualities. Welcoming and making friends with so many different clients.
